SEO packages in India (2026): what ₹15,000 and ₹35,000 a month should buy

Published SEO packages in India mostly start at ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 a month and are priced by keyword count. Some of the monthly work they list is the kind Google's spam policies describe as link spam.

SEO packages in India are sold a bit like mobile plans: a monthly price, a keyword allowance and a long list of "activities". Comparing them is hard, because two packages at the same price can be selling very different work.

We sell SEO too, and our prices are public, so read what follows as one seller's view of the market. On 30 September 2026 we read 11 published SEO package pages aimed at Indian buyers and checked what they sell against Google's current guidance on hiring an SEO.

Prices as published on each agency's page on 30 Sep 2026, rechecked 13 Oct 2026. Of the 11 pages we read, Pankaj Kumar SEO and RepIndia don't publish prices, and one listed identical features on every tier, so we left it out. Anirup has since replaced its prices with "Custom quote", so it's no longer in the table.

Entry prices for a monthly package cluster between ₹8,000 and ₹25,000. Two of the agencies put the typical market price in much the same range: "8K to 25K" and "10,000 to 25,000" a month.

Almost everyone prices by keyword count, ourselves included. A keyword limit is a reasonable way to scope work. The problem starts when keywords are the only thing a package promises, and rank screenshots are the only report.

What ₹15,000 a month should buy

We've used ₹15,000 and ₹35,000 as reference points because they were the list prices of our two monthly SEO tiers until October 2026. We now charge ₹7,500 and ₹17,500 for those tiers. Both figures still sit within the ranges other agencies publish, shown in the table above. At ₹15,000 you're buying local SEO for a single location: a salon, a showroom, a consultant, a service business in one city. That's a sensible scope, because for local searches the Google Business Profile and a handful of key pages do most of the work. A good ₹15,000 package should include:

  • Google Business Profile optimisation: categories, services, description and photos.
  • On-page work on your most important pages: titles, headings, content that answers what customers search for, internal links.
  • Consistent listings on the directories that matter in your industry, with the same name, phone and address everywhere.
  • Local structured data, so search engines read your business details correctly.
  • A monthly report showing calls, enquiries and traffic from search, not only rankings.

What it can't realistically cover is a steady flow of new content or a serious link-earning effort. If a ₹10,000 package promises 20 blog posts and 50 backlinks a month, ask how that's possible at that price. The answer tends to be low-quality links and templated text.

What ₹35,000 a month should buy

This is where SEO starts to look like a programme rather than maintenance. It suits businesses that sell across a city or the whole country, or that compete with established players. At this level, expect:

  • Technical fixes implemented, not just listed in an audit: speed, indexing problems, structured data, site architecture.
  • Around four new articles or pages a month, planned around what your customers search for.
  • Internal linking that connects new content to the pages that make money.
  • Outreach for earned mentions and links: industry publications, partners, data your business can publish.
  • A quarterly review of what to do next.

Above this, you're mostly paying for more content and outreach, or specialised work such as SEO for a large e-commerce catalogue.

Or start with a one-time audit

If you're not sure what you need, pay for an audit before signing a retainer. A useful one covers crawling and indexing, speed and Core Web Vitals, on-page and structured data, and competitor and keyword gaps, and ends with a prioritised list of fixes. Google's hiring page says an audit should give you "realistic estimates of improvement, and an estimate of the work involved". You can hand that list to any developer or agency, including us.

Red flags in SEO packages, and what Google says about them

All but the last row appeared in at least one of the package pages we read. The last is a warning from Google's Business Profile help. The right-hand column is Google's wording.

What the package offersWhat Google says
A price that "guarantees results""No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google." If an SEO guarantees first place, "find someone else."
A monthly count of social bookmarks, classified ads, forum posts and blog comments"Low-quality directory or bookmark site links" and "Forum comments with optimized links" are listed as link spam.
A fixed backlink count per package, sometimes 50 to 150Link spam is creating links "primarily for the purpose of manipulating search rankings". Google's starter guide says links from other sites happen "naturally over time".
Guest posts "as per client budget""Exchanging money for links, or posts that contain links" is link spam, unless the links are marked rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow".
"Location-based landing pages", with no word on how many or what each containsDoorway abuse includes "pages targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page".
Contradictory terms, such as a six-month contract and "no lock-in" on the same page"Be careful if a company is secretive or won't clearly explain what they intend to do."
Anyone selling a better Maps ranking"There's no way to request or pay for a better local ranking on Google."
Quotes from Google's "Do you need an SEO?" page, spam policies, SEO Starter Guide and Business Profile help, as published on 30 Sep 2026.

Google's spam policies say sites that break them "may rank lower in results or not appear in results at all". In our view, that makes cheap link-building one of the few SEO mistakes that can leave you worse off than doing nothing.

How long does SEO take to work?

Google's SEO Starter Guide says: "Some changes might take effect in a few hours, others could take several months." It suggests waiting a few weeks before judging whether a change helped. In a 2017 video, Google's Maile Ohye said that in most cases SEOs need "four months to a year to help your business first implement improvements and then see potential benefit".

In practice, fixing something that stops Google reading your site, such as indexing errors or broken pages, can pay off once Google recrawls those pages. A new page competing for a contested search takes much longer. It's why we ask for at least three months on a first SEO engagement, and why a package that promises page one in 30 days deserves a hard look.

Questions to ask before you sign

Google's page on hiring an SEO suggests several questions. From Google's list:

  • Can you show me examples of your previous work and share some success stories?
  • Do you follow the Google Search Essentials?
  • What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe? How do you measure your success?
  • Will you share all the changes you make to my site, and the reasoning behind them?

And three of ours:

  • How exactly do you get links, and can I see a sample of last month's?
  • Will Search Console, Analytics and the Business Profile stay in my name?
  • What happens to the work if I stop paying?

Can you do SEO yourself?

For a small local business, often yes. Google agrees: "If you run a small local business, you can probably do much of the work yourself." Start with a verified and complete Google Business Profile (our Business Profile guide walks through it), set up Google Search Console, write a clear page for each service you offer, and ask every customer for a review. In our view, that covers most of what a ₹10,000 package would do.

Hire help when your time is worth more than the fee, when the site has technical problems you can't diagnose, or when you're competing in a crowded market where content and links decide the result.

What we charge for SEO

Frequently asked questions

How much does SEO cost per month in India?
Published monthly packages aimed at Indian buyers mostly start between ₹8,000 and ₹25,000, and larger packages run from about ₹40,000 to ₹90,000 a month, with some going higher. In our view, local SEO for a single location is realistic at around ₹15,000 a month, and regular content and technical work usually needs ₹35,000 or more.
How long does SEO take to show results?
Google's SEO Starter Guide says some changes take effect in a few hours and others can take several months, and suggests waiting a few weeks to judge a change. In a 2017 video, Google said that in most cases SEOs need four months to a year to implement improvements and then see potential benefit.
Can any agency guarantee a first-page ranking on Google?
No. Google states that no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, and advises finding someone else if an SEO guarantees first place.
How many backlinks per month is safe?
There is no safe number. Google's spam policies define link spam by purpose, as links created primarily to manipulate search rankings, not by count. Paid links without rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow", low-quality directory and bookmark links, and forum comments with optimised links are all listed as link spam.
Is SEO worth it for a small business?
Usually, if people search for what you sell in your area. In our experience the biggest gains for a local business come from a complete Google Business Profile, clear service pages and reviews, and Google says a small local business can probably do much of that work itself.
What is included in a local SEO package?
In our view, a proper local SEO package should cover Google Business Profile optimisation, on-page work on your key pages, consistent listings on relevant directories, local structured data and a monthly report based on enquiries and traffic, not only rankings.
Should I choose SEO or Google Ads?
Google Ads can bring traffic as soon as a campaign goes live, and it stops when you stop paying. SEO is slower to build. In our view the two work best together: ads for leads now, SEO for the searches you want to win over time.
