Google Ads cost in India (2026): Keyword Planner bids, GST, budgets and fees
Top-of-page bids on the Indian service keywords we checked ran from ₹11 to ₹891 a click, and you'll often pay less than you bid. The auction rules, 18% GST and management fees decide the rest of your bill.

Google Ads pricing guides for India quote cost per click anywhere from ₹3 for cheap e-commerce clicks (Nico Digital) to ₹3,000 for insurance keywords (upGrowth). Both ends can be true for someone, which is why neither helps you. What you pay depends on the keywords you bid on, how many competitors bid with you and how good your ads and landing pages are.
So instead of another table of "average CPCs", we pulled the bid ranges Google itself shows advertisers in Keyword Planner.
How Google decides what you pay for a click
Each time your ad is eligible for a search, it enters an auction, and Google orders the competing ads by Ad Rank. According to its help page on actual CPC, Ad Rank combines your maximum bid with ad quality at the time of the auction (expected clickthrough rate, ad relevance and landing page experience), the competitiveness of the auction, the context of the search and the expected impact of assets and other ad formats.
You usually don't pay your maximum bid. Google says you pay "what's minimally required to clear the Ad Rank thresholds and beat the Ad Rank of the competitor immediately below you". So a better ad can need a lower bid to hold the same position. It can also go the other way: Google notes that your actual CPC may exceed your maximum if, for example, you've enabled Enhanced CPC or set a bid adjustment.
What advertisers bid on Indian service keywords
On 30 September 2026 we ran a set of service keywords through Google Ads Keyword Planner with the location set to India. Search volumes are monthly averages for September 2025 to August 2026. The bid range is Keyword Planner's top-of-page bid, low to high, which Google describes as roughly the 20th and 80th percentile of what advertisers have historically paid to show at the top of the first page. Google says these bid figures come from the last 30 days.
| Keyword | Searches a month | Bid range |
|---|---|---|
| digital marketing agency in delhi | 8,100 | ₹30 to ₹111 |
| website development company in delhi | 6,600 | ₹37 to ₹160 |
| seo company in delhi | 3,600 | ₹59 to ₹229 |
| local seo services | 2,400 | ₹31 to ₹201 |
| google business profile optimization | 1,900 | ₹29 to ₹247 |
| google ads agency | 1,600 | ₹33 to ₹207 |
| website development cost in india | 1,600 | ₹15 to ₹71 |
| social media marketing agency in delhi | 1,000 | ₹36 to ₹151 |
| seo cost in india | 1,000 | ₹23 to ₹176 |
| facebook ads agency | 720 | ₹22 to ₹101 |
| content writing services india | 390 | ₹11 to ₹33 |
| meta conversions api | 320 | ₹116 to ₹256 |
| google ads cost in india | 90 | ₹172 to ₹891 |
On some topics, searches that signal a buyer attract higher bids than research searches. "seo company in delhi" runs ₹59 to ₹229, while "seo cost in india" runs ₹23 to ₹176, and the website pair shows the same gap. It isn't a rule, though. The odd one out is "google ads cost in india": a research search with about 90 searches a month, yet the highest range in the table, up to ₹891 a click, well above "google ads agency" at ₹33 to ₹207. Technical searches can be pricey too, with bids for "meta conversions api" reaching ₹256.
These are bids to appear at the top, not what you'll average. Google says you're often charged less than your maximum bid, "sometimes much less", because you only pay what's needed to beat the ad below yours. For planning, treat the high end as a cautious estimate.
From cost per click to cost per lead
Nobody buys clicks for their own sake. The number that decides whether Google Ads works for you is cost per lead, which is cost per click divided by the share of visitors who enquire.
| Average CPC | 3% enquire | 6% enquire | 10% enquire |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹40 | ₹1,333 | ₹667 | ₹400 |
| ₹100 | ₹3,333 | ₹1,667 | ₹1,000 |
| ₹200 | ₹6,667 | ₹3,333 | ₹2,000 |
Read across any row. Moving from 3% to 6% of visitors enquiring halves your cost per lead, the same saving as cutting your CPC in half. The CPC is set in an auction you only partly control. The landing page is entirely yours, which is why we'd send ad traffic to a page built for that search, not to the homepage.
How much should you spend on Google Ads in India?
We couldn't find a minimum campaign budget anywhere in Google's documentation. Its India budget page says "you decide how much you spend on your campaigns". There is a minimum payment: Google's billing help says the amount you pay has to be above the minimum transaction amount for your location and currency, and you'll see that figure when you make a payment.
We'd set a floor of about 20 clicks a day on your main keywords, so you learn something within a month. At ₹60 a click, which sits inside the range for most keywords in the table, that's ₹1,200 a day, or about ₹36,500 a month before GST.
If that's more than you can spend, narrow the targeting instead of spreading a small budget thin. One service in one city, with exact and phrase match keywords, will teach you more than five services across India on ₹10,000.
Why your spend can go above your daily budget
Google treats your budget as an average. For most campaigns, it can spend up to twice the daily budget on a busy day, but across a month it won't charge more than 30.4 times the daily figure (365 days divided by 12). If it delivers more than that, Google says it covers the difference. So a ₹500 daily budget can bill ₹1,000 on a busy day, and the month is capped at ₹15,200.
Is GST charged on Google Ads?
Yes, for most Indian advertisers. Google's tax page sets out the rules:
- GST is charged at 18%. That's IGST for most advertisers, or 9% CGST plus 9% SGST if your billing address is in Haryana. Advertisers in SEZs pay 0%.
- A GSTIN is mandatory for business accounts and optional for individual ones. If the GSTIN's state doesn't match your billing address, the invoice is treated as issued to an unregistered customer.
- The TDS rate on advertising payments to Google India is 2%, calculated excluding GST.
One older charge has gone. Google's notice on the Regulatory Operating Cost says ads served in India stopped being subject to the 2% fee from 1 September 2024.
Plan for your ad spend plus 18%: a ₹30,000 month becomes ₹35,400 on the invoice. Confirm the details with your accountant.
Is the ₹20,000 Google Ads credit worth it?
The "₹20,000 credit" is Google's sign-up offer for new advertisers. Google's India Ads page offers three spend levels, but the credit attached to each one changes between visits. When we loaded the page 20 times on 13 October 2026, we saw four different sets:
| Spend in your first 60 days | Ad credit offered |
|---|---|
| ₹20,000 | ₹20,000 or ₹40,000 |
| ₹60,000 | ₹40,000, ₹60,000, ₹75,000 or ₹1,20,000 |
| ₹1,20,000 | ₹60,000, ₹1,20,000, ₹1,75,000 or ₹2,40,000 |
Google's help pages add the conditions:
- It's for a business that has never advertised with Google Ads, or one expanding to a new country with a new billing address.
- The account must be less than 14 days old when you redeem the offer.
- Only spend after you redeem counts, and the credit can't count towards the spend requirement itself.
- Once you've met the spend, there's a verification period of up to 35 days that confirms you're new to Google Ads.
- You typically have 60 days to use the credit once you've earned it.
- Google support can't hand out offers on request.
The offer's terms count spend as advertising costs "excluding any taxes or applicable fees", so GST doesn't count towards the target, and paying the amount into your account isn't enough on its own. It's genuine money, but only if you were going to spend that much anyway.
Google Ads management fees in India
A percentage fee is fine once spend is large. On small budgets it bites: at 35% of a ₹7,500 budget, you pay ₹2,625 a month to manage about ₹250 a day of ads, or ₹10,125 in all before GST. Whatever the structure, the account should be in your name, and you should see search terms, conversions and cost per lead, not just clicks and impressions.

Is Google Ads worth the cost for a small business?
In our experience it pays off when people already search for what you sell, a customer is worth several times your cost per lead, and your website turns visitors into enquiries. If people don't search for your product yet, social ads that create demand tend to work better, and our Instagram and Facebook ads cost guide covers that side.
Before spending anything, get the tracking right. Google can only optimise towards leads it can see, so every form, call and WhatsApp click should be recorded as a conversion. Our WhatsApp lead tracking guide walks through that setup. If you'd like us to run the account, the Google Ads service page explains what's included.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does Google Ads cost in India?
- You set your own budget, and we found no minimum campaign budget in Google's documentation. What you pay per click depends on the keyword and the competition. For the Indian service keywords we checked in Keyword Planner in September 2026, top-of-page bids ranged from about ₹11 to ₹891, and bids for searches naming an agency or company ran from ₹22 to ₹229. You'll often pay less than your bid. Add 18% GST.
- What is the minimum budget for Google Ads in India?
- Google says you decide how much you spend, and we found no minimum campaign budget in its documentation, though there is a minimum payment amount that you see when you pay. In our view a practical floor is enough for around 20 clicks a day on your main keywords, so you can learn within a month. At ₹60 a click that's about ₹36,500 a month before GST.
- Is GST charged on Google Ads in India?
- For most Indian advertisers, yes, at 18%: IGST for most, or 9% CGST plus 9% SGST for billing addresses in Haryana, and 0% for SEZ advertisers. A GSTIN is mandatory for business accounts. The TDS rate on advertising payments to Google India is 2%, excluding GST.
- Can Google spend more than my daily budget?
- Yes. For most campaigns, Google can spend up to twice your average daily budget on a single day, but it won't charge more than 30.4 times the daily budget in a month. If it delivers more than that, Google covers the difference.
- What is the ₹20,000 Google Ads credit?
- It's a sign-up offer for new advertisers on Google's India site. When we checked on 13 October 2026, it had three spend levels for the first 60 days, ₹20,000, ₹60,000 and ₹1,20,000, but the credit for each changed between visits: ₹20,000 or ₹40,000 at the lowest level, and from ₹60,000 to ₹2,40,000 at the highest, with the top figures from a limited-time offer. GST doesn't count towards the spend. The account must be less than 14 days old when you redeem the offer, and terms apply.
- How much do agencies charge to manage Google Ads in India?
- Published Google Ads management plans we checked on 13 October 2026 started at ₹1,999 to ₹25,000 a month, and agency estimates for large accounts run to ₹3 lakh-plus. Where a percentage of spend was published, it ran from 5% to 20%, and one package that includes the ad budget adds a service charge of 35% of the ad budget. Veridian Code charges ₹7,500 a month for spend up to ₹1,00,000.
- Why am I paying less than my maximum CPC bid?
- Google charges only what's needed to clear the Ad Rank thresholds and beat the advertiser ranked immediately below you. Better ads and landing pages raise your Ad Rank, so you can hold the same position for less.
