Logo design cost in India (2026): studio, freelancer, marketplace and DIY prices

Indian studios we checked publish logo-only starting prices from ₹600 to ₹20,000, and identity packages from ₹4,999 to ₹90,000 and beyond. Research, files and a written copyright assignment explain much of the gap.

Ask what a logo costs in India and you'll find anything from ₹99 to more than a lakh. Both answers can be honest. One might be a single concept in a PNG file; the other a researched mark with source files, guidelines and the copyright signed over to you. Most price lists don't make it easy to tell which one you're looking at.

We design logos and brand identities ourselves, so we went through what Indian studios, freelancers, marketplaces and logo makers actually publish. Every price below was checked on the provider's own page on 14 October 2026 and is shown as published. Ranges we calculated and estimates from other people's price guides are labelled as such.

Each provider's own page, checked 14 Oct 2026. Cities as each site states them.

Two things stand out. First, the number of concepts doesn't track the price: a ₹1,499 package offers two variations and a ₹16,888 package offers two concepts. What you're paying for at the top end is the thinking behind a concept, not the number of drafts. Second, check the files. Most packages above include a vector or source file, but Digital Puneet's Starter tier delivers PNG and JPEG only, which is fine for a website header and a problem the day a printer or signboard maker asks for a vector.

Brand identity packages: logo plus the system around it

A brand identity adds the colours, fonts and rules that keep a logo consistent, and usually stationery and social media templates. Published packages:

Agencies that write price guides describe a similar spread. LogoPeople, a Delhi NCR studio, puts freelance logos at ₹2,000 to ₹25,000 and agency logos at ₹15,000 to ₹2,00,000 or more. Jigsawkraft in Ahmedabad puts logo design alone at ₹8,000 to ₹40,000 from a freelancer and ₹20,000 to ₹80,000 from an agency. Monk Creatives in Chennai puts a logo plus basic identity from a mid-tier studio at ₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000. These are the authors' estimates of the market, not their own rate cards.

Marketplaces, contests and logo makers

  • Fiverr. The logo design category showed gigs priced from US$5 to US$65 when we checked. Fiverr adds its own service fee of 5.5% of the purchase, plus US$3.50 on orders under US$200, and charges it again on extras and tips.
  • Upwork. Upwork's cost page puts logo designers at US$15 to US$30 an hour, with a median of US$25, based on its historical contracts. Clients on the free Basic plan pay a marketplace fee of up to 7.99% according to its help centre, plus a contract initiation fee of US$0.99 to US$14.99 for each new contract.
  • Freelancer.in. Logo projects showcased on its hire page were paid between ₹1,110 and ₹15,000.
  • IndiaMART. Listings on its logo design category page ran from ₹99 to ₹15,000, with a single listing at ₹1,00,000; most were priced between ₹1,000 and ₹5,000. Listings range widely in what they describe, so read each one.
  • 99designs. Logo contests run from US$249 (Bronze, about 30 concepts) to US$1,050 (Platinum, top-level designers and a dedicated manager). Every package lists a money-back guarantee and full copyright ownership.
  • Canva. Its logo maker is free, and Canva Pro costs ₹4,000 a year in India. Its licence doesn't let you use its content as part of a trademark, and its help centre says a logo made from a template is non-exclusive and can't be registered as a trademark.
  • Wixel (Wix's logo maker). You can make a logo on the free plan; paid plans start at US$90 a year.

Who owns the logo you paid for?

This is the question cheap quotes skip, and Indian copyright law doesn't answer it in your favour by default. Under the Copyright Act, 1957, a drawing is an artistic work, its author is the artist, and Section 17 makes the author the first owner of the copyright. The Act's exception for work made for payment at someone else's request covers a photograph, a painting or portrait, an engraving or a film; it doesn't extend to drawings in general. Work made by an employee in the course of employment is different: the employer owns it unless they've agreed otherwise. So when an agency's staff designer draws your logo, the agency, not you, starts out owning it.

Ownership passes to you through a contract. Section 19 says an assignment of copyright is valid only in writing, signed by the person assigning it. It should name the work and specify the rights, the duration, the territory and the payment. If the duration isn't stated, it's treated as five years; if the territory isn't stated, India. The designer also keeps moral rights, to claim authorship and to object to distortions that would harm their reputation, even after an assignment.

  • Ask for a written, signed assignment of copyright in the final logo, worldwide and for the full term, on full payment.
  • Get the source files: a vector format (AI, EPS or SVG) and PDF, not only PNG or JPEG.
  • Ask whether the designer keeps the concepts you didn't choose, and what they may do with them.
  • This is general information, not legal advice. For anything you'll register or rely on, ask a lawyer.

Registering your logo as a trademark

A logo can be registered in India as a device mark. You file it in the class that covers your own goods (Classes 1 to 34) or services (Classes 35 to 45), and IP India charges per mark and per class. The official fee for filing online is ₹4,500 for an individual, a recognised startup or a small enterprise, and ₹9,000 for everyone else. Filing on paper costs ₹5,000 and ₹10,000. A trademark attorney's or agent's fee for the search and filing is extra.

Do the trademark search before you approve a final logo, not after. A design that is too close to an existing registered mark in your class is a problem no amount of polish will fix.

  • Research and concepts. A low-cost package usually means a designer working from your brief alone. Higher tiers include discovery: your customers, competitors and the impression the mark should leave.
  • Who designs it. Abhishek Graphics offers a Rs. 5,000 package by a senior designer alongside junior-designer budget tiers from Rs. 3,000.
  • Revisions. Published packages include anything from one free revision to unlimited rounds. Unlimited sounds generous, but a clear brief and two good rounds usually serve you better.
  • Files. Vector source files and versions for print, web, favicon and social profiles take time; some tiers leave them out.
  • The system around the logo. Colours, fonts, guidelines, stationery and templates are where identity packages add most of their cost.
  • Turnaround. Digital Puneet charges ₹999 extra for faster delivery.
  • Rights. A written copyright assignment and editable files are part of what you're paying for, whether or not the price list says so.

How to compare logo quotes: 8 questions

  1. How many concepts will I see, and who designs them?
  2. Does the price include research into my customers and competitors?
  3. How many revision rounds are included, and what does an extra round cost?
  4. Which files do I get: vector (AI, EPS or SVG), PDF, PNG, colour and black and white?
  5. Will you assign the copyright to me in writing on full payment?
  6. Do you use templates, stock icons or AI-generated elements? If so, can the logo still be registered as a trademark?
  7. What's the delivery time, and what does faster delivery cost?
  8. Does the price include tax?

Our prices are public. A logo is ₹10,000: three concepts, two revision rounds, final files in SVG, PNG and PDF in colour and in black and white, and favicon and social profile sizes. A brand identity is ₹30,000 and adds a colour palette and fonts, a brand guidelines PDF, business card and letterhead designs, and six social media templates.

On full payment the logo and every file we deliver are yours, as our terms set out. We're designers, not trademark attorneys: before you rely on a new logo, have a trademark search and filing done by a trademark attorney or agent. See branding and graphic design for how we work, or send us a quote you've received and we'll tell you what it includes and what it leaves out.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a logo cost in India?
Indian studios and designers we checked publish logo-only starting prices from ₹600 to ₹20,000, and most sit between ₹3,000 and ₹16,888. Packages that add stationery, guidelines or templates start from ₹4,999 and run to ₹90,000 and beyond, and one Noida agency starts its brand identities at around ₹150,000.
Is a ₹500 or ₹1,000 logo good enough?
It can be for a first version, if you get a vector file and the copyright in writing. Some cheap packages deliver one concept in PNG or JPEG only, which causes problems for printing and signboards. Check the files and the rights before the price.
Who owns the copyright in a logo I paid a designer for?
Under India's Copyright Act, the designer, or the agency that employs them, is the first owner of a logo they draw, unless they are your own employee. Paying does not transfer the copyright by itself. Section 19 requires a written assignment signed by the owner, naming the work and specifying the rights, the duration, the territory and the payment. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can I trademark a logo made in Canva?
Not if it is built from Canva's templates. Canva's licence does not allow its content to be used as part of a trademark, and its help centre says template-based logos are non-exclusive and cannot be registered. Simple lines, shapes and fonts are the exception it describes.
What is the trademark filing fee for a logo in India?
IP India's official fee for filing online is ₹4,500 per mark per class for an individual, a recognised startup or a small enterprise, and ₹9,000 for others. Filing on paper costs ₹5,000 and ₹10,000. Attorney or agent fees for the search and filing are extra.
Which logo files should I get from a designer?
At least a vector file (AI, EPS or SVG), a PDF, and PNG files in colour and in black and white. Versions sized for a favicon and social media profiles save time later. Without a vector file you may have to redraw the logo for print.
